Star Trek: The Original Series #26: The Devil in the Dark Reviewed on 01 Jul 2007 04:50:55
Unfortunately, I have to rat ethis one a little low. There are many production errors (like the guy's foot coming out from under his Horta suit) and a preachy theme about "can't we all get along." At the same time, I personally have always LIKED this episode for some reason. It's my favorite "I'm a doctor not a ..." line and the whole Spock "Kill it, don't kill it" angst. Not the gem of some episodes but by far not the worst either.

Remarkable. Remarkable storyline. Remarkable acting. Remarkable themes. The best on TNG, hands down.

Star Trek: The Original Series #70: Let That Be Your Last Battlefield Reviewed on 22 Jan 2006 04:26:28
OK, a little preachy about racism, but a good episode nonetheless and featuring the Frank Gorshin.

Star Trek: The Original Series #09: Balance of Terror Reviewed on 22 Jan 2006 04:09:16
A well written episode with real tension, actual characters (not red shirts) who die, and something more important to worry about than some dangerous, individual creature. This episode is based on an earlier submarine warfare movie and retains the beauty of two great captains doing whatever they can to win... and survive. In the end, they should have been friends.
